Kongsberg 352P MGC R3 USBL System
Portable system designed for tracking ROV’s, towfish, divers and other subsea objects at several thousand meters range. The system operates in SSBL mode where it measures the distance and direction to subsea transponders and computes a 3D position in local coordinates or in geographical coordinates.
Built-in MGC RT inertial measurement unit for roll/pitch and heading compensation. No need for calibration to determine roll, pitch and heading alignments.

Product Description
Kongsberg 352P MGC R3 USBL System
The Kongsberg 352P MGC R3 is a portable, high-precision USBL (Ultra-Short Baseline) positioning system designed for tracking ROVs, towfish, divers, and other subsea assets at ranges extending to several thousand meters. Operating in SSBL mode (Super Short Baseline), the system calculates 3D positions of subsea transponders by measuring both distance and direction, delivering coordinates in either local or geographic reference systems.
The standout feature of the Kongsberg 352P system is its compact, all-in-one transducer, which houses a complete transceiver and built-in Motion Reference Unit (MRU). This integration makes the 352P an ideal solution for vessels of opportunity, offering rapid deployment and reliable performance without requiring permanent vessel modifications. It is the only portable USBL system on the market with automatic beam steering, enabling advanced tracking capabilities with minimal setup time.
Key Features:
Highly portable system for rapid deployment
Automatic beam steering for enhanced signal quality and tracking precision
Integrated MRU for real-time compensation of vessel motion
3D positioning in local or global coordinates
Ideal for tracking ROVs, divers, towfish, and AUVs
Transducer mountable via shaft for over-the-side or moon pool deployment
120° cone operating area, tiltable without recalibration
No mechanical adjustments needed — tilt compensation is automatic
Inertial version (HiPAP 352P-I) includes built-in north-seeking heading sensor for GPS antenna offset calibration
Optimized for shallow to deep water operations
Compact, intelligent, and highly adaptable, the Kongsberg 352P MGC R3 brings professional-grade underwater tracking to vessels of all types — making it a go-to solution for mobile survey teams and rapid-response missions.
